Be mesmerized by shimmying, swirling dancers of all styles during the SWAY 10th Anniversary Celebration of Dance! 2 days of awesomeness, August 19th & 20th at the beautiful Lincoln Center in Fort Collins.

About SWAY 10th Anniversary Celebration

Spread out over 2 days, this exciting show will ignite your senses and get your pulse beating. More than 80 dancers and drummers will grace the stage, performing a dazzling array of dance styles, including American Ballroom, Belly Dance, Bollywood, Latin Fusion, Flamenco, and Mexican Skirt Dancers, among others. A portion of the proceeds benefit Loveland’s Alternatives to Violence program.

The Saturday evening showcase at 7pm is geared towards adults. Tickets are $15 each (students and seniors $12).

The Sunday afternoon showcase at 2pm showcase is all ages and family friendly. Tickets are $12 each (students and seniors $10). Free for children 12 and under (just reserve them thru the box office). We’ll be dancing in the Sunday afternoon show, if you want to come cheer us on.

Your Arms & Hand; The Complete Picture with Phoenix of Denver

Phoenix utilizes visualization and exercises to focus on incorporating the arms and hands for a complete picture.  The technique and drills include strength, movement, transition, position, framing, highlighting, poses and awareness.

In addition to movement, she includes ways to match the energy and shape of the movement using the whole body for a complete picture.  Take the time to focus on what often separates the pretty picture from the distraction or the same old – same old. Join Phoenix to give your arms and hands their own special class.  All Levels Welcome. This workshop is great for all styles of dance and not limited to belly dance.

Moves With Moods with Rafi’ah Ruyah

Moves without moods are like just going through the motions!  Bring new life to your dance by going deeper than just technique! Learn some of Rafiah’s favorite signature moves and combos with a focus on graceful execution, presence and theatricality. Repeat the combos adding various emotions, moods, and qualities like softness, elegance, strength, depth, sensuality, delicacy, etc.

Express what you feel, what the music evokes while moving out of your comfort zone beyond what is habitual and familiar. Add more texture, depth and richness to create a unique personal artistry; an aspect of storytelling without words. Be prepared for a lot of fun and stretch your nature a bit in a supportive environment.  For all levels and styles of dance.

Advance Registration (before August 18th):  $40 each or $70 for both workshops
Day of Registrations : $45 each or $80 for both workshops
Drop-in is allowed if space permits.
