Our Sariloons (aka vintage sari pantaloons, salawar or harem pants) are made of the most decadent and luscious vintage sari fabrics available. We’ve been a trusted source for these environmentally friendly pants since 2002.
Who Wears Our Sariloons?
Everyone loves them! They are a fabulous pant choice for all dance genres and all genders.. for stage work, street wear and everything in between!
How To Wear Them
1. An essential clothing piece in many cultures, our Sariloons in the ATS/FCBDstyle® dance form are traditionally layered under one or two Skirts. They present a stunning color accent during turns when the skirts float up.
2. With such lovely detailing & colors, you’ll also love them worn without overskirts. Try the pants layered with hip scarves and belts. Add a coin bra, a choli top or any of our corseted bodice tops for a more classic vintage or modern fusion belly dance look.
3. These billowing pants are statement pieces when added to your regular ‘street wear’ wardrobe. Dress them down with a t-shirt and sandals or under a summer dress in warmer months. In cold weather they easily can be worn over thermal pants and with bulky sweaters for stylish winter look.
Sizing
These pants are made in ‘One Size’ and only one of each is available. The full nature of the pants, along with the elastic and drawstring at the waist and ankles adjusts to fit a variety of sizes. Check out Jennifer’s article with 3 quick shortening tips, if needed.
What Is Eco-Chic?
Eco-chic is what we like to call garments that are made with a focus on being environmentally mindful, low waste and 100% stylish. Our sariloons are upcycled, meaning the fabric has been repurposed from already existing garments and textiles.
How does this work?
We start with a premium vintage fabric that is no longer being used as a traditional sari/saree. This is then cleaned, pressed and custom tailored into our fabulous one of a kind pants. Only the elastic and lining on the inside of the waistband are newly produced.
This type of fabric reuse is one of the best things we can do for the environment. It helps unused garments find a new purpose and reduces the amount of textiles that end up in landfills. A win for you and a win for the planet!
