This sparkling silver belt is part of the traditional Odissi dance look. And with it’s light weight nature, it is comfortable to wear for extended periods of time, as well. Fine black yarn cabling creates a nice contrast with the bright silver tone of this metal these pieces. Small bright silver bells hang down from the lower pendants and create a delicate sound with movement.
Ornamental jeweled section of the belt is approximately 5″ tall and 34″ long. Total length with ties is approximately 63″. You can tie the black string ties to make the belt fit from about 34″ – 60″.

Odissi Dance
Odissi is an ancient form of Indian Classical Dance that originated in the Hindu temples of Odisha. The foundations of this dance form can be found as early as 200 BCE in ancient Hindu Sanskrit text of performance arts, Natya Shastra. In this dance-drama genre performers recreate mythical stories, share spiritual messages or devotional poems.
