Saturday September 9th, 5pm: We’ll be celebrating community & dance with a casual outdoor performance for our dance company and their family and friends.
We started these farm performances during the first stages of the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to keep in person connections and a sense of play.
Having the opportunity to dance in person with our fellow classmates and troupe members helped us recharge our social batteries and remind us of the promise of the future.
The last time we got together our students and dance company presented a fun mix dances that can still be viewed on our YouTube channel. Check those and our other videos out.. and while you’re there be sure to like and subscribe. We love sharing our art with you!
This Year’s Farm Show
For 2023 we will be offering a series of new pieces. We will have students from our Level 1 & 2 classes trying out their hands (or hips) at performing in chorus for the first time. Our intermediate students from the Level 2 classes have a couple of songs they’ve been working hard on that they’ll be sharing (with support from our chorus dancers).
Our advanced students from the Level 3 class will be showcasing some of their latest skills and props over 2 dynamic songs. And our professional dance company members will be bringing the classic improv format into focus with 2 new songs. We’ll close with a piece that mixes all of our usual performers into new groups and showcases what improv is all about.
And guess, what? You can dance too! We’re planning on having an open dance after the performance and YOU are invited to get up and play with us as we share the beauty of this improv dance format, the beautiful outdoors and, of course, our fabulous friends and family!
If you are a current or recent student of ours or a family or friend we are so excited to have you. Please note we are trying to keep this as a small intimate event as it is on private property. Very limited parking and no bathroom on site (closest is at the Safeway, about a mile away): 2467 N 119th St Lafayette, CO.
We are so thankful for what this dance form has brought to our lives and the loving community that all of the Nawaar dancers have created.
Wishing you all many years of happy dancing!
